I have just been to Australia Fashion week and what an exciting experience that was.
There were so many really wicked models and I met so many celebrities and got to wear some amazing clothes. They were really long days but well worth it and I was lucky my agent negotiated a great rate for me which was a lot more than some of the other girls got, I even met girls who were working for free but to be honest it was my first job ever and I would of done it for free to if it meant getting experience. Fashion week is great for models because everyone gets to see us. Anyone wanting to work at fashion week needs to have a good agent who will not only get you in ut also get you paid. My personal booking agent is Paulette Edser from VMA Models she comes across as hard and a bit rude and blunt but she has got to be because there are a lot of crackpot wannabes who try to pick up models at after parties, I am 22yrs old but my agent as she calls it was on babysitting duties on Wednesday night when we went out.

I did not know that models are willing to work for free. Wow, it's a tough game! My heart goes out to anyone who has to start at that level, given the financial times we live in. Interesting hub.
Hey Jackie we did that ASB TVC together last month, good to catch up with you, yeah word is Paulettes a good negotiator but I still havent met her does she just look after the models because Im just in the extras category

Paulette Edser and her Visualize Modelling Agency (VMA Model and Talent) featured on Fair Go back in 1995. Back then, her company was placing advertisements for models in bay of plenty newspapers, charging between $75-$295 for photos, and talking about the enormous amounts of money to be made from modelling. But our complainants said the careers - and the photos - did not materialise, and the photo shoots themselves, involving Paulette, they believed were thoroughly unprofessional.
Ten years later - Fair Go has received similar complaints from some Kaitaia mums who say they have had ongoing difficulties with Paulette Edser, now calling her agency VMA Models and Talent.

nah I live in Kaitai, they did that as a publicity stunt cos the same girls were in the local paper with Paulette Edser because they all did a photo shoot with NZ Bikini Model Search it was a scam to get free publicity because they all looked pretty happy together on the front page of the newspaper
VMA got me into On Stranger Tides I thought they were very professional even down to the early hour wake up calls they had happening for their talent and they organised car pooling also which no other agency had ever offered me in the past 25yrs I have been working in the Industry, good on you VMA Model and Talent keep it up, Timothy Bridge

got any idea when they take people in Im in Melbourne and I have rung them a few times but they told me they are not accepting any more females in my age range for TV commercials. Does that mean that they dont want me do you think because my friend is signed with your agency and I have asked her to ask but I dont think she wants me to join so she won't ask them

Kind of feel sorry for your agent she seems like a decent person but there is random on ebay hardcore telling everyone she is a scam I think it is because she accused him of trying to rip off the Queensland flood victims and pulled her talent, hope you fellas get through it ok because the dude on facebook looks like one of those clowns who has nothing better to do with his time

I saw that on ebay, but I dont understand because in order for it to be made public they would of had to allow it to be posted to the listing so I am thinking that it is a boogus profile who knows but it looks like a shit fight messy messy messy blah blah blah
VMA is an absolute joke. they first came to me on starnow claiming that if i pay them $99 they will send me comp cards to get me started. 3 months later i am still waiting and continually getting emails saying i havnt paid. Funny thing is, i have the receipt from when i did pay!! Elisa Jacobs should definately get fired...AND PAY ME BACK
Hi Gracie, just read your comment, I am from Tasmania and VMA are accpeting me as talent to fly back and forth from Melbourne to do TVC etc, what age range are you?
And also, can anyone give me feedback about this agency? Are they good, professional and pay you on time? What jobs have you done and what pay rate?
Are they worthwhile siging up to? As I am a bit skeptical as I have been scammed before.

I have been with them for 4 years, I have always been paid and found them good to work with, they seem to work hard because they are always buzzing around with their people on set, all jobs have different pay but they work on commission so they try to get as much as they can for us
Ive only been with them for 4 months but so far so good, done 2 jobs, been paid, happy at my end.
hey I got paid $2500 for a commercial and then I did some extra work but that was only $175 and from memory a longer day I am not even registered with them, well I didnt pay anything but my son was and they asked me to send them a photo as well da

I did join them, and paulette got me some jobs to earn enough money to fund my trip to australia for the international pinups bikini model competition finals.
Paulette told me to send my account details to VMA's accounts manager to pay me, and i did just that, but never heard from them back, they dodged my emails, and calls, and never paid me. so i hope you didnt end up joining, because you too could be ripped off.
That other girl who got paid, she was lucky as. wish that i couldve got paid too..

Only the winner got sent to Australia so honey I am guessing your agent paid the $500 fee for you but you were never going to Australia you didnt even place and I am hardly suprised if any agent ever got back to you, I was on the promo job where you turned up looking like some part gothic bohemian drifter, how you got any work is beyond me
If that is Renee Haami then I can confirm what Chelsea has said only Olga and Alice were going to Australia because they tied first place for NZ and you couldnt go to the Australasian final unless you placed. You didnt place. We did two jobs together and our pay didnt even cover the fees for International pinups but Paulette made sure our fees were paid in full anyway. I think that it is sad and twisted that you wrote what you did, you should have been greatful and while I think about it didnt VMA pay for you to travel everywhere and your accommodation when you were trying to compete, thats what you told me
I have been with the agency for 3 years and I have never had a problem getting paid and I have done lots of promo work and 1 TVS and range model work also

This is a blast from the past, some trivia about Paulette Edser (surely there is only one) when she wasnt spinning records in clubs in the late 80's she was dancing for the highest paid dance troops in NZ until she killed her hamstring by continuing to dance while injured. Good to hear she is still making waves

and the deal was that i could earn money to go, thats why she got me the jobs. simple as that. just that when i didnt go, i was supposed to get paid.

I think VMA is very hard to get into so good luck with your carrers those who made it, they turned me down and said I could only join for the eztra work

Paulette eder interacts with people and appears to be focused and informative. What I have found is that she openly takes peoples moneys and has nothing to give in return. If you have moneys to hand over to a charity then give it to a worth while one. If you enjoy being scammed then this is the place to be. She goes in for the small $$$$ as she knows no one will take her to court over it. Be careful and tread like your walking on glass. Scorpions have a very nasty sting. I would recommend people to go elswhere for modeling and the like....
Very well said "conserned about scammers". I have been scammed by Paulette Edser as well. She is extremely good with her scams. She give a little to get good feed back on the net and then goes in for the kill [scam]. VMA Modeling is becoming obsolete and she is looking at starting another modeling agency as VMA is getting too hot for her. She has taken 6 months to 1 year off to try and get things to cool down. She has now targeted friends that she makes on the net. This is her newest scam. sad stories and using her daughter as a tool to cash in. To all out ther. Be careful and as per the nigerian scams dont go there. If you want to know who your looking out for google the name Paulette Edser and you can see a photo of her in one of the warning sites. Always ask to view her photo before comencing work, contracts, portfolios or the like. If you see her face then back away fast....... hope this helps people out there. dont be scammed...... good luck everyone.....
The comment that "Unsure about this one" wrote 14 months ago is spot on. Paulette edser has had numerous agencies and is about to change The current ones name as well. VMA is becoming obsolete and an unknown new name will appear in the future. She was born in NZ and has lived in Uk and Australia. She travels the world {Europe, USA, Australia and NZ] to recruit victims after sucking them in on the net through her false sites. She never stays in one place long enough to be caught. Her accomodation is always temporary. Last place know to reside was Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. Sources has it she is heading to New Zealand again. If anyone has updates to her where abouts..... do tell..... Many people are after her to recover there lost moneys. Debt collectors are tracking her as well..... People are filing for court against her to claim damages and more. People need to stand together to prevent her from continuing her scams and destructive spree.

As many of the people I represent are concerned with the ramblings of Alby Laker and what exactly it will do to their income I would like to make this simple, we are currently trying to locate Alby Laker so we can start with legal proceedings against him. I am not able to comment on if Alby Laker is a child molesterer as I do not know the man that well at all. He has had nothing to do with VMA Model and talent and I have read his three different profile comments above and also those he sent whilst stalking me on fracebook. As Andy has said in his comment above mine I have given him my personal address hoping that he will either show or send something via the mail so I can get his correct name as all I know is he is 40 plus years and lives with his sister somewhere in rural Queensland. I am more than happy to post my address here as I have nothing to hide which is 17 Burdekin Street Gaythorne Brisbane. I can confirm I have know Paulette for over 20years, she is the most hardworking ethical person I have ever encountered I can also confirm that I have been stalked on facebook by Alby Laker. Paulette would never give up the name VMA as it would be worth a fortune and I can also confirm she has only ever had one name and always used VMA since the start of the agency 20 years ago and would work with her at any given chance because she is great at what she does which is make a lot of people a lot of money. I cannot confirm if Alby Laker has sexual ambitions on children but the messages I personally got from him were both random and strange so I am of the opinion he is not right in his head.
Alby Laker stalks woman with kids on dating sites, his wife devorced him because something went down with his neighbours kids and he is in bankruptcy or was a few years ago and he lives at his sisters house in mount tamberinem he is really creepy and tries to pass himself off as an expert landscaper and tiler but is qualified as nothing and when he makes a mess of jobs he cons his way into people refuse to pay him and then he turns nasty but he doesnt take people to court because he hasnt done his job properly and he is ripping off the benfit

Alby laker has a history of mental illness and was run out of Cairns after he was declared bankrupt after not paying local businesses and incidents with young children, Alby is also not his real name, I wouldnt be giving him my address. I Dont know Paulette Edser but from what I have read there is more positive than negative, and I am sure if she was an international scammer that after 20yrs she would be stopped by the authorities. Word of advice, stay clear of Mr Laker, especially if you have children
